INDEPENDENCE DAY
Good morning to the dignitaries on the Dias and off the Dias. We
are gathered here to celebrate Independence Day. First of all, I would like to wish you all a
very happy Independence Day. Today we have gathered here to celebrate
Independence Day. This is really a great national event. On this special
occasion of Independence Day, I would like to speak on India's struggle for
getting freedom from the British rule.
Independence Day is annually
celebrated on 15 August, as a national holiday in India commemorating the
nation's independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947.
Independence Day holds a lot of
significance in the lives of Indians as on this day we got freedom after a long
struggle of thousands of freedom fighters and Great leaders like Mahatma
Gandhi, Pt. Jawahar Lal nehru, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh,
Chandrashekhar Azad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Vallabhbhai Patel,
and many more.
They all sacrificed their lives to get independence from the
British, who ruled the country for more than 200 years. Independence Day
is celebrated with a great enthusiasm in all schools, colleges, offices and
other places across the country in the remembrance of all our forefathers who
driven the nation out off long slavery. People hoist the flag and recite
the national anthem. Independence Day is also very important day to keep
the spirit of patriotism alive and at the same time enjoy the spirit of freedom
In the history of India, Independence Day remains the most
important day of all. It was on 15th August 1947that we got independence from
Britishers and on this day we remember all our patriots who sacrificed their
lives for our wellness.
We should all feel proud and fortunate to be part of this
motherland. Our history dictates how our ancestors and elders suffered from the
cruel behavior of the Britishers.
It also motivates us to bond with each other irrespective of which
religion, cast, community, creed, sex or culture we belong to. India has shown
phenomenal growth since its independence. India has witnessed growth in various
fields including science, technology, agriculture but there is still a lot to
be achieved, a lot to be done. Now it's our turn to continue the legacy of
doing something great for our next generations. And we will make
it.
We should feel proud to be an Indian and try our best to save the honor
of our country.
Jai hind Jai Bharat.
